It’s not a Halloween party until somebody screams…whether with terror or delight is up to the host. Here’s a few scarifying soiree suggestions for the adults plus a slightly tamer party idea or two for the pint-sized set. The menu and tips are on us—we’ll leave the fright factor to you.

The Pumpkin Gatherers
A pumpkin-carving party is ideal for little ones and grown-ups alike, and at the end of the evening, partygoers get to go home with a jack o’lantern for their front porch. You can even make an afternoon of it by starting in a local U-pick pumpkin patch. Then, everyone meanders back to home base for a little carving, a lot of fun, and a fabulous self-serve menu that all will enjoy. Be sure to have safety-conscious carving supplies on hand, as well as plenty of newspaper to cut down on clean-up afterwards.
